Home Alone

Home Alone, directed by Chris Columbus, is a comedy film that stars Macaulay Culkin in the main lead. The movie was released in the year 1990 and its story revolves around an eight-year-old boy who is mistakenly left behind by his family members, when they leave for France for a Christmas vacation. Given below is the complete script/story of the movie 'Home Alone'.

Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) is the youngest member of the McCallister family. One day, he has an argument with his family over dinner and he is sent to his 3rd floor bedroom for the night. The family is about to leave for France next day, for celebrating Christmas together. A power failure neutralizes all the alarm clocks in the morning and in the frenzy of leaving for the airport, the family members forget to take Kevin along. The moment Kevin comes to know of it, he decides to fully enjoy his newfound independence, which has some bad sides also. One major threat is his neighbor, Marley, a supposed murderer.

One day, Kevin accidentally meets Marley in the church and finds that he is indeed a good person and not a murderer, as people believe him to be. Infact, he has been separated from his family and misses them terribly. Kevin advises Marley to try to get in touch with his family once again and patch up with them. Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), a pair of thieves, plan to rob the McCallister home, believing it to be an easy target, with the family being absent. Kevin comes to know of this and sets up booby traps throughout the house. He then lures the thieves inside the house.

What follows is a series of hilarious accidents, where the two thieves get badly thrashed. Finally, the robbers manage to follow Kevin into a neighbor's house and capture him. As they stand talking about how to take revenge from the little boy, Marley arrives and smack the burglars with his shovel. By the time the robbers come back to consciousness, the police arrives and takes them away. Around that time only, Kevin's mother manages to come back from the Scranton International Airport. Marley, who had contacted his family on the advice of Kevin, also reunites with his family.

Titanic
Titanic is a 1997 disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. It features Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson, and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater, two members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ill-fated 1912 maiden voyage of the ship. The main characters and the central love story are fictional, but some supporting characters (such as members of the ship's crew) are based on real historical figures. Gloria Stuart plays the elderly Rose, who narrates the film in a modern day framing device.
Production of the film began in 1995, when Cameron shot footage of the real wreck of the RMS Titanic. He envisioned the love story as a means to engage the audience with the real-life tragedy. Shooting took place at the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh for the modern scenes, and a reconstruction of the ship was built at Playas de Rosarito, Baja California. Cameron also used scale models and computer-generated imagery to recreate the sinking of the ship. Titanic became at the time the most expensive film ever made, costing approximately US$200 million with funding from Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox.
Originally slated to be released on July 2, 1997, post-production delays pushed back the film's release date to December 19, 1997. After word broke out that Titanic's release date was pushed back, the press believed that Titanic would fail and cause the downfall of Fox and Paramount. Despite low expectations, the film was both a major critical and commercial success, winning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture and becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, with a total worldwide gross of approximately $1.8 billion (it is the sixth-highest grossing in North America once adjusted for inflation).

batman

Violent scenes in the latest Batman movie have prompted a record number of objections about its 12A certification.
In The Dark Knight's first week of release, which coincides with the school holidays, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) received 70 complaints. The film's bloody content has surprised some cinema-goers with its gritty realism, compared to previous Batman films' cartoon style.
The late Heath Ledger, playing Batman's wicked adversary The Joker, regularly describes his pleasure in killing people with a knife because it takes longer for them to die. At one point he rams a pencil into a man's eye. The movie's last half-hour features graphic burns injuries.
The 2006 James Bond film, Casino Royale, also classified 12A, received 110 complaints, but that was in total – not in a single week.
The Labour MP Keith Vaz, chairman of the House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee, said he had seen the film on Friday and subsequently planned to force the BBFC to attend his committee's hearings on knife crime in October.
"The BBFC should realise there are scenes of gratuitous violence in The Dark Knight to which I would certainly not take my 11-year-old daughter", said Mr Vaz. "It should be a 15 classification."
The BBFC admitted that The Dark Knight, directed by Christopher Nolan and with Christian Bale as Batman, was "borderline 15" – meaning its examiners came very close to certifying as a 15. The 12A rating means that children as young as 12 can watch a film unaccompanied, while parents can take children younger than 12 with them to the film.
Mounting criticism of the BBFC has centred on the pressure it comes under to lower ratings to boost audiences. The body has confirmed that Warner Bros asked for The Dark Knight to be classified as 12A, and that the BBFC "comes under pressure to keep classifications low".
